Dear Families and Friends,
Welcome to 3rd Grade! I am so excited to meet you and to work with you throughout the year and to make it a fun, enriching experience for all. We will have many opportunities for exploring, discussing, discovering, sharing, and creating together. Every child will be able to share and develop their talents, interests, and questions with our class community as we move in a direction of developing responsibility, independence, and thoughtful inquiry.
Third grade is often called the “transitional year” in elementary education. Students will take standardized tests throughout the year. From a social perspective, students become more self-aware and reflective, explore boundaries, and are conscious of gender during outdoor play and classroom work. Students will still be given a snack time each day, so please make sure it’s a healthy snack.
To address those changes and new experiences, students will receive considerable support and guidance in class to help prepare, nurture, and support them in taking these important steps towards becoming a well-rounded, independent, and confident learner. I would like to remind all families to help prepare their child by establishing a regular sleep schedule, maintaining a healthy diet, and wearing comfortable and appropriate clothing, which will dramatically improve their performance in and out of the classroom.
I will typically communicate with you through emails. You can find the website through Janney’s website or this link. You can find the website through Janney’s website or this link, http://janney3seward-clements.weebly.com/, and the password is Janney3SC.
I look forward to working together with each of you this year!
